Bowls From Laminated Boards

A laminated board is made by gluing two or more boards of contrasting colors, and varying widths together. The bowls in this category were made from a single laminated board that's about 3/4" thick, and a little wider than the diameter of the bowl that was made from it. To make a bowl using this method you must cut successively smaller rings from the board. However, the rings must be cut at a precise angle such that the diameter at the bottom one ring, is matched in size to the top of the ring it will be stacked upon. The circular piece, or base that remains after cutting the final ring becomes the bottom of the bowl. Stacking and gluing the series of rings upon the base completes a bowl.
